Excerpt: Coat of arms The Bishopric of Brixen is a former Roman Catholic diocese and also a former ecclesiastical state of the Holy Roman Empire in the present Province of Bolzano-Bozen. The bishopric in the Eisack/Isarco valley was established in the 6th century and gradually received more secular powers. It gained Imperial immediacy in 1027 and remained an Imperial State until 1803, when it was secularised to Tyrol. The diocese however existed until 1964, it is now part of the Diocese of Bolzano-Brixen. The Diocese of Brixen is the continuation of that of Säben Abbey near Klausen, which, according to legend, was founded about 350 as Sabiona by Saint Cassian of Imola. As early as the 3rd century, Christianity had penetrated Sabiona, at that time a Roman custom station of considerable commercial importance. It may have been a retreat of the bishops of Augusta Vindelicorum, the later Bishopric of Augsburg, during the Migration Period. Brixen CathedralThe first Bishop of Sabiona vouched for by history is Ingenuin, mentioned about 580, who appears as suffragan of the Patriarch of Aquileia. The tribes who pushed into the territory of the present Diocese of Brixen, during the great migratory movements, especially the Bavarians and Lombards, accepted Christianity at an early date; only the Slavs of the Pustertal persisted in paganism until the 8th century. By the late 6th century the region became part of the Agilolfing stem duchy of Bavaria, which in 788 finally fell under Frankish overlordship. Urged by King Charlemagne, Pope Leo III assigned Säben as a suffragan diocese to the Archbishopric of Salzburg in 798. After King Louis the Child in 901 had granted Säben the former court of Prichsna, Bishop Rihpert (appointed 967) or Bishop Albuin I (967-1005) h… More:

At the height of its power it spread between Budapest and the Black Sea and from the Dnieper River in modern Ukraine to the Adriatic Sea .As the state solidified its position in the Balkans, it entered on a centuries-long interaction, sometimes friendly and sometimes hostile, with the Byzantine Empire . Bulgaria emerged as Byzantium’s chief antagonist in the Balkans, resulting in several wars . The two powers however also enjoyed periods of peace and alliance, most notably during the Second Arab siege of Constantinople , where the Bulgarian army played a crucial role in breaking the siege. Byzantium had a strong cultural influence on Bulgaria, which also led to

Nay, it was even used in connection with the immemorial superstition of the wax figurine which represented the enemy to be destroyed, and mass celebrated ten times over such an image was supposed to insure his death within ten days. Even confession could be used as a magic formula to escape the detection of guilt. As demons professed a knowledge of every srime committed, and would reveal them through the mouth of those whom they possessed, demoniacs were frequently used as detectives in case of suspected persons. Yet when sins were confessed with due contrition, the absolution wiped them forever from the demon’s memory, and he would deny all knowledge of them—a fact which was regularly acted on by those afraid of exposure ; for even after the demon had revealed the guilt, the perpetrator could go at once and confess, and then confidently return and challenge a repetition of the denunciation.f f Examples such as these could be multiplied almost indefinite ly, but they would only serve to weary the reader. What I have given will probably suffice to illustrate the degeneracy of the Christianity superimposed upon paganism and wielded by a sacerdotal body so worldly in its aspirations as that of the Middle The picture which I have drawn of the Church in its relations with the people is perhaps too unrelieved in its blackness. All popes were not like Innocent IV. and John XXII.; all bishops were not cruel and licentious; all priests were not intent solely on impoverishing men and dishonoring women. In many sees and abbeys, and in thousands of parishes, doubtless, there were prelates and pastors earnestly seeking to do God’s work, and illuminate the darkened souls of their flocks with such gospel

INTRODUCTION. The literature of the first three centuries of the Church differs in this respect from all other literatures, that it is wholly theological and religious.1 The remark may be applied with almost equal accuracy to the centuries that immediately follow. And if to these we add the entire mediaeval period, with all its complex life, we shall still find the same statement substantially true. No doubt, in this latter period, some forms of secular thought emerge and find a more or lees articulate utterance. But speaking broadly and popularly, we may assert that the long succession of ages from the time of the New Testament to the Revival of Letters, if not absolutely restricted to theological modes of expression, is dominated throughout by a theological spirit. This is surely a very striking phenomenon. Theological ideas are not so easily grasped as to form the natural clothing of

The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic — a debate that continues in the twenty-first century.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. Anti-Judaism in Feminist Religious Writings

Anti-Judaism in Feminist Religious Writings

$10.81

This work is the first comprehensive study of anti-Judaism in feminist religious writings. Katharina von Kellenbach provides a critical evaluation of how Judaism has been depicted in major American and West German feminist theologies, including the writings of Rosemary Radford Ruether, Carol Christ, and Elisabeth Moltmann-Wendel. Applying Foucault’s categories of discursive practice, von Kellenbach demonstrates that feminist theologians portray Judaism negatively in comparison to Christianity and paganism, identify it as the source of patriarchy, and render it invisible as a religious alternative after the rise of Christianity. This book calls on feminist theologians to combat the pervasive tradition of Christian anti-Judaism.

Paganism Christianity
How is Paganism and the Occult ‘of Satan’? Do you realize Christianity came from both?

What do you think prayer is in the bible? It is magick. The bible is easily a book of Occult myth. And there is nothing wrong with that!!! We can all live in peace together without you telling me I am evil, going to hell, or anything else.

Our sources are much older then christianity. christianity does what they can to supress the real truth.
