A Liturgy of Grief $21.99 “In Lamentations, we read of the unbearable grief experienced by a group of believers. Leslie Allen suggests the book can be read as the script of a liturgy performed to help the people of God come to terms with the fall of Jerusalem and the national catastrophe it entailed. It reveals God’s sometimes hidden support for those who grieve and for their caregivers. >In this unique commentary on Lamentations, respected Old Testament scholar and volunteer hospital chaplain Leslie Allen appropriates this oft-neglected book of the Bible to deal with a universal issue. Incorporating stories of pastoral encounters with hospital patients, Allen integrates Scripture and pastoral care to present a biblical model for helping those coping with grief. The book includes a foreword by Nicholas Wolterstorff, author of “Lament for a Son.”" |

Grief Journey $14.99 “”From coping and surviving, to transformation and thriving, Dennis has shared what grievers know . grief is a life-long process. This book of poetry and prose not only follows Dennis through the first two years after his wife’s death, but also reminds us grief is an everyday ‘relearning’ . from our relationships with others to ourselves. This is an outstanding book for not only the bereaved, but also the professionals who companion them. It is a book about new beginnings and the continuing bonds of love.” Ben Wolfe, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker; Program Manager/Grief Counselor, St. Mary’s Medical Center Grief Support Center, Duluth, Minn.; Past president, Association for Death Education and Counseling “With honesty and courage, Dennis Herschbach invites us to share his journey of grief following the death of his wife. On the way, we discover that this is a journey of love, loss, healing and faith refined by the experience of living fully and honestly within the questions of death and life. All who share this story will be deeply moved and inspired. Reverend David Mesner, Ph.D. “Dennis is a gifted poet and writer who has a way with words that not only express the torment of the soul after a spousal death, but also offer hope in the journey, and he has allowed himself vulnerability so others can experience the poignant lessons to be learned. It is rare to read a work and feel so instantly drawn into the emotions and experiences expressed by the author. This is a book that will always offer a place for reflection and peace during times of sorrow and joy.” Linda Senta, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker” |

Good? Grief! $10.99 “In Good? Grief , the Temple children attempt to build a fort to play in and embark on some very precarious adventures that, for them, was ‘just life’. The sixties were years of uncertainty and turmoil for the United States as, right at one hundred years after the Civil War, racial violence threatened to divide the nation yet again. The country sat breathless before brand new televisions to witness the violence of a war in Viet Nam that was killing their sons, as their daughters’ skirts got shorter and shorter. But in another world of Powersville in northern Missouri, four children were living in an escapade all their own and knew very little about outside society. In Good? Grief , the Temple children attempt to build a fort to play in and embark on some very precarious adventures that, for them, was ‘just life’. Join Cathy with her orange hair and freckles as she learns the valuable lessons God has to teach throughout every ‘just life’ day. She and her siblings will delight readers of any age or gender as the innocence of childhood is brought back to mind with all its fun and adventure. Find out just exactly what Good? Grief can be.” |

Heavenly Grief $10.99 “Don and Karen Clifford are life-long Christians whose marriage and faith have survived the loss of three of their living children. Because of their total dependence on God during the multiple losses, they began to learn things about surviving grief that aren’t covered in the textbooks. They not only learned how to survive the losses, but how to recover in a reasonable time and return to a joyous Christian life. They simply learned (sometimes through trial and error) to avail themselves of the helps and comforts God provides. Don and Karen discuss the help they found and how God’s provisions are all part of His all-sufficient grace. They offer practical guidance to help avoid traps that can easily lead to continuing sorrow. They focus on the recovery process and the spiritual lessons that can help the grieving individual find healing and go on to a full and happy life. As young parents, Don and Karen lost their 2-year old son Mike, who suffered from seizures, when he suffocated in his bedding in the night. A few years later, their baby daughter Rachel contracted spinal meningitis at 3 months but lived in a severely brain-damaged body for over 3 years. Finally, their 5-year old daughter Beth, who also suffered seizures, died in a bathtub drowning accident at the age of five. Two of their daughters survived and are now married and have given Don and Karen six grandchildren. Both Don and Karen have served faithfully in their churches, team teaching adult Bible classes for most of their adult lives. Don worked as an aerospace engineer while Karen was kept busy in the home with their children. Later Karen became a travel agent and the couple traveled extensively, leading or participating inmission trips around the world. They are now retired and reside in St. Charles, Missouri” |

A Grief Observed $11.95 “Written after his wife’s tragic death as a way of surviving the “mad midnight moment,” A Grief Observed is C. S. Lewis’s honest reflection on the fundamental issues of life, death, and faith in the midst of loss. This work contains his concise, genuine reflections on that period: “Nothing will shake a man — or at any rate a man like me — out of his merely verbal thinking and his merely notional beliefs. He has to be knocked silly before he comes to his senses. Only torture will bring out the truth. Only under torture does he discover it himself.” This is a beautiful and unflinchingly homest record of how even a stalwart believer can lose all sense of meaning in the universe, and how he can gradually regain his bearings.” |

Getting Through Grief: Caregiving by Congregations $19 “A foundation for congregational-based ministry to persons who are grieving. Contending that grief work is actually the responsibility of the congregation, Sunderland says congregations need to experience grief education to carry out their mission. He gives special attention to grief work with children and teenagers and stresses the importance of ongoing grief support groups.” |

Grief to Grace $15.99 “How does someone cope with the knowledge that she almost killed her son with her own truck? How does someone recover from guilt after her little girl’s life is cut short because of a silly mother-daughter game? How does someone overcome flashbacks of a head on collision? These were the questions I had to ask after three separate automobile accidents shattered my world. The emotional pain they inflicted on me was unrelenting, causing me to cry out, “Lord, when will bad things stop happening to me?” I didn’t think I could endure the wounds caused by these tragedies, but God helped me walk through the dark valley and back into the light. He can do the same for you. With His help, you can see the sunshine again. I invite you to read my story and see how God’s grace is more than sufficient for your grief. Lori Koos was raised in a loving home, attended Sunday school as a child, and entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ during her teen years. In the seventies her faith was tested by drugs and peer pressure. When she settled down to start a family, she resolved to put the past behind and instill godly values into her home. This resolve was tested by multiple tragedies, including the loss of her daughter’s life. Through her trials and tribulations, she learned to rest in God’s love. Today she is an avid lover of Jesus, serving members of her church and local community with compassion and grace. She and her husband, John, live in Molalla, Oregon.” |

Traveling Through Grief $13.99 “Written from both a psychological and spiritual perspective, this resource takes readers in need through the basic tasks necessary to complete their grief journey.” |
|

Getting To The Other Side Of Grief $14.99 “It’s something no married person wants to imagine. Yet each year, eight hundred thousand individuals mourn the passing of a husband or wife. Coming alongside the grieving spouse, psychologist Susan Zonnebelt-Smeenge and pastor/professor Robert De Vries provide much-needed support from a unique perspective–empathy. They each suffered the loss of their spouse at a relatively young age. Throughout Getting to the Other Side of Grief, the authors share their stories as living proof that if worked through properly, grief will lead the way to a fresh new life. Beginning with the premise that a full resolution to grief is possible, the authors extend this lifeline to readers: Complete healing doesn’t happen without intentional effort (time alone doesn’t heal), and this intentional effort, for complete success, must combine Christian faith and sound mental health practices. In offering these interwoven disciplines, the authors give readers the benefit of both the male and female perspective. Readers will find getting to the other side of grief less lonely and more promising in the empathetic company of these two authors. Those who assist grieving persons on their journeys–pastors, counselors, family members, friends–will find this a useful supplement to the support they offer.” |
Grief Christian

spiritual people of all aid to the belief that it is-again Christian, please do not answer it born?!
of spiritual people who believe God and / or a higher power? The way to deal with that? I am a great believer in God but do not follow the teachings Christians in America, this is not my way. I believe in a higher power, but I refuse to believe that God does not allow people in the sky because of their belief. I feel most beliefs are just another way to God. I have a lot of pain Christians say that I'm praising God that I serve the devil, and because I do not take the Bible literally, I'm lost. I do not take the Bible literally and do not feel as if God wanted us, but to see as a learning process. How to keep your drinking to remind you that no matter what The Christians say they are as good in the eyes of the gods? I'm tired of the negativity that can hurt my spiritual process, that is what you can do to ignore the Christians as they try you say you are wrong when you know you're not?
Have you tried to find like-minded friends? After loving friends can take us through many difficulties in life and give us the support we need. Although primarily rely on our inner strength, friends can help keep our minds and help us avoid being negative, showing the impatience and anger against ignorance. We all need others to believe in ourselves, believe in the goodness of our and our intelligence. Find like-minded friends.
