Family a Christian Social Pers $17 “An authentic vision for today’s family Thoughtful and informative, Cahill’s work brings fresh historical, theological, and ethical thought to the explosive area of family-deeply contested territory in today’s cultural and religious skirmishes. As one group of social theorists and cultural critics points to rising divorce and illegitimacy rates as symptoms of unfettered individualism and moral laxity, another side notes that the “traditional,” nuclear family is actually a product of the industrial age, with its strict gender roles, public-private split, and exclusion of an underclass. In the religious arena, evangelical- conservative vs. mainline-feminist lines echo these battles, contesting the authentic meaning of family within a Christian framework. Though “family” has been dissected in the academic and cultural wars, Cahill asserts that the usual religious agenda of restoring the traditional nuclear family is actually misinformed and misguided. It actually bolsters oppressive social, economic, and racial mechanisms that are destroying families at the bottom, middle, and even top of the ladder. Is there an authentically Christian notion of family? Cahill’s contribution shows in a striking way how very different we are counter-cultural New Testament and early- church notions of family from our ideas of “family values;” how, throughout history, other fruitful Christian examples have emerged in the work of John Chrysostom, Martin Luther, and the Puritans; how, despite distortion by gender and class divisions, there develops a Christian vision of the altruistic family, animated by Christian discipleship to stand for compassion, generosity, and justice; how pertinent this vision of the”domestic church” is to public debate and public policy.” |

The Christian’s Warfare: It’s a Family Affair $15.99 “THE CHRISTIAN’S WARFARE: IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR As you read this book, you will come to see that victory over the obstacles we face in life is not just about His power or His presence but about your Positioning. Christ has promised us His power just as he has promised us His presence, but He leaves it up to us to be PROPERLY POSITIONED in certain areas in order that we might gain the victory. These areas are: Living successfully as Singles in a sex-crazed society Husbands loving their wives as Christ loved the church. Wives submitting to and reverencing their husbands Children obeying and honoring their parents Fathers not provoking their children to anger and discouragement Men becoming providers and not pimps in their home FRANCIS L. DAVIS is the pastor/founder of West End Bibleway Christian Fellowship in New Iberia, Louisiana. He is a passionate Teacher of the Word of God whose giftedness is not in how much he knows, but in his ability to make plain, and simple and exciting God’s truths. His next book, which will soon be available, is entitled: The Misbehaving Church. “This book acquaints the Saints with proper positioning strategies by providing us with a means to inspect what we expect based on God’s expectations for each of us. It addresses a basic premise, that behavior follows belief over a protracted period of time. Reformation can never truly change behavior, transformation of one’s belief system is required to behave differently. Misbehavior is a reflection of “mis-believing.” Many in the Kingdom will be blessed through this work. Thank you Pastor Davis for obeying the Spirit.” Sterling Lands, II DD Sr. Pastor, Greater Calvary Bible Church, Austin, Texas Sr. Pastor, FirstAfrican Bible Church, Dallas, Texas” |

Christian College, Christian Calling $65 “Christian colleges have been set up by Christian churches throughout American history. But all too often these schools and the groups that support them come into conflict, typically over what is being taught in religion and philosophy classes. Christian College, Christian Calling seeks not so much to resolve this tension between congregation and academy as to explain why it exists and why it might even be fruitful. Instructors of philosophy, theology, church history, Biblical studies, and ministry from Azusa Pacific University explain the value of their disciplines in down-to-earth terms_not in terms of academic achievement but in terms of the Christian life. Looking to get past the stereotypes of liberal, faith-diluting colleges and conservative, unthinking churches, Christian College, Christian Calling provides an invaluable resource for anyone concerned about the mission and relevance of Christian higher education.” |

Welcome to the Revolution: A Field Guide for New Believers $12.99 “Felt the pull of God? Answered it? Freaked out about what to do next? > As Brian Tome was talking to a new Christ-follower in his office, he realized that he had nothing on his bookshelf that would give her the “straight talk” on the radical new life she was about to begin. So he penned “Welcome to the Revolution” a bold, honest, humorous guide to joining the ever-advancing Kingdom of God. “The Revolution,” as Tome calls the Christian life, is already underway, and while it is both exhilarating and fulfilling, it’s challenging and confusing at times. This book will guide the reader from the basics (navigating through Christian kitsch at the bookstore) to the practical (Bible reading and building community) to the profound (concepts of forgiveness and using imagination in prayer). To those people who have previously dismissed the “Christian” life, or those who want to learn more about God in an accessible way, this book will be the breath that clears the air and shows them how to follow a Revolutionary God.” |

He was an editor of the New Right Flemish nationalist journal Teksten, Kommentaren en Studies from 1992 to 1995, focusing on criticism of Islam, various other conservative and Flemish separatist publications such as Nucleus, ‘t Pallieterke, Secessie and The Brussels Journal.
