The origins of the Twelve Tribes movement can be traced to a ministry for teenagers called the “Light Brigade” in 1972. The ministry operated out of a small coffee shop called “The Lighthouse” within the home of Gene Spriggs and his wife Marsha. The Light Brigade began living communally and opened a restaurant called “The Yellow Deli,” while attending several churches before deciding on First Presbyterian Church. His first nine years were at Bethlehem Christian School in Kennewick, Washington, graduated from Concordia College-High School in Portland, Oregon in 1956. He received his A.A. degree from Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington in 1969, and B.A. degree in Education from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington in 1976. Otto majored in Social Studies with a strong emphasis in History. In 1961 while in Wyoming, Otto developed a great love for the Scripture. Over the years, he read 23 different translations and paraphrases of the Bible. He even read the Bible backwards from Revelation to Genesis. When asked why, he simply replied, “Just for fun.” However, he wouldn’t do it again or recommend it, saying “It was chronologically distracting.” Otto has taught many Sunday School classes to both teenagers and adults. I'm looking for Good Christian Books for my children to read. Does anyone know of any good? Preferably in the range of 7-14 years. Thank you.
The author most Popular Christian OU CS Lewis. Almost everyone knows the "Chronicles of Narnia", but also his famous "Space Trilogy" and "Letters the devil to his nephew. "Both teams are probably 12-14 years of age. Frank E. Peretti is a great Christian author who has received much critical acclaim in the Christian Community. "The Adventure of the Cooper Kids series (I read) is very, very good. It is written level in about 9 years old, but still enough to keep the attention of a teenager. "This Present Darkness" and "Piercing the Darkness" Peretti also could be tested at 13 and 14 years. I would not recommend it to anyone younger than that, though. The "Left Behind" series Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins is good for teenagers if they are interested in the book of the Apocalypse and the Apocalypse. These books are well written, but that's all you focus on. Jeffrey Asher Nesbit High Sierra Adventure Series is hard to find, but they are very good. They teach great values and Christian morality, and are suitable for children of all ages. Curse of the Spider King "is a Christian Fantasy series in the vein of" The Lord of the Rings. "For children 8-12. Other Fantasy is Great" Lost "series. Hope this helps.
