Excerpt: Allantide (Cornish Calan Gwaf or Nos Calan Gwaf) is a Cornish festival that was traditionally celebrated on 31 October elsewhere known as Hallowe’en . The festival itself seems to have pre-Christian origins similar to most celebrations on this date, however in Cornwall it was popularly linked to St Allen or Arlan a little known Cornish Saint. Because of the this Allantide is also known as Allan day. The origins of the name Allantide are actually likely to stem from the same old English sources as Hollantide (Wales and the Isle of Man ) and Hallowe’en itself. The following is a description of the festival as it was celebrated in Penzance at the turn of the 19th century::”The shops in Penzance would display Allan apples, which were highly polished large apples. On the day itself, these apples were given as gifts to each member of the family as a token of good luck. Older girls would place these apples under their pillows and hope to dream of the person whom they would one day marry. A local game is also recorded where two pieces of wood were nailed together in the shape of a cross. It was then suspended with 4 candles on each outcrop of the cross shape. Allan apples would then be suspended under the cross. The goal of the game was to catch the apples in your mouth, with hot wax being the penalty for slowness or inaccuracy.” Robert Hunt in his book ‘Popular romances of the West of England’ describes Allantide in St |

Christian naturalism / Paganism?
I am a Christian (although withgod seriously struggling with my relationship at the time) I am a naturalist, I love you and the experience of nature. I know it is inevitable that it will be destroyed, is it useful in my fight for him? I feel very depressed when I think of how desperate she is (as you may here to be a sort of Christian Spirituality Pagany (from a Christian perspective). I mean, worshiping God through the celebration of trees flowers, plants and animals, and praise God with drums in a drum cirlce. Light candles to symbolize the power of God to shed light on the power of darkness. I just want to be closer to God, but I do not know. I believe in magic, and like all feel weird … Is it possible to have this practice? I also realize that their "My selection" but … I know, from a Christian perspective, is that possible?
Dear nature lovers, is good to see that a reasonable person as you online. I think you will find the answers you are looking with time and exploration. I am neither Christian nor pagan, but I am familiar with both. If you are looking for a church that embraces nature, I encourage you to investigate a church or Unitarian Universalist Church of Quakers. Unitarians have an approach holistic religion and spirituality are based on Christianity, but often also pagans, atheists and Buddhists who celebrate it. The Quakers Christians who believe in a simple life and who oppose war and violence. Because of corporate greed and war are the main contributors to the destruction of our land, living a simple life is a way to remove yourself from this vicious circle. Many people are unaware that most ancient traditions Christian roots in other religions and mythology, and "paganism". Many saints were real people, but the gods and goddesses were renamed to convert people. For example, Saint-Denis, the patron saint of Paris, his head was severed and his head to Montmartre (Mount of Martyrs), where he founded a sacred place. In fact, St. Denis Catholic Dionysis was the Greek god of wine and party co-opted by Christians to convert pagans. Mary Many sacred places of the mother were in fact ancient goddess sites before shrines were Christians. Examples abound in France and in Latin America. Religion and spirituality are best when they have a personal or a personal relationship between you and God. Many forces and institutions trying to tell you what to believe and how to live your life, because the benefits for them. You can seek advice from teachers and may be very happy to be in a spiritual community of people who think like you can use your energy, share your experience or study sacred texts. But beware of those they want you to think and behave a certain way for economic or political reasons. According what I understand the * much * Christianity and paganism, I do not think we can find common ground and compatibility. From a Christian perspective, is to walk with Christ for fear of creation, but job creation _above_ God. "Pantheism" is the idea that God is in everything, God is present in nature, think about the physical forces of time and movement of heaven. Paganism refers to the religions they worship nature before the Christianity. Many festivals and rituals in modern Christian use are based on practices that predate Jesus Christ. Since account history and the stigma attached to witch craft, I understand you feel uncomfortable with that word. On the one hand, we are told that witches are not really real, so the only abracadabra May sound like a joke. One reason why many women are attracted to paganism or Wicca is it is compatible with a religion of women. Many traditional religions of the West are predominantly masculine and patriarchal, and focus a male god. Dianic Wicca recognizes the sacred feminine, which is manifested in a number of personalities of the goddess. Other types of paganism and Wicca value the masculine and feminine aspects of divinity, which manifests itself in the gods and goddesses. This does not mean that there is more of a "god" but regardless, is that we recognize as greater than we can show your face to many people in different ways. The god and goddess mythology teaches us lessons about life and spirituality and the divine. I think if you can experience the divine thought and talk Jesus or God of The Christians, and also see the divine in the natural things around us that these beliefs are compatible. I think for the search, you find something that is comfortable for you. Regarding the destruction of our land, do not lose hope, and above all, stop acting and talking about what you believe in Christian tradition, we are the custodians of this land. My belief is that it will not be judged by God, but for future generations and what we leave behind us to them. Christianity and defend our land is compatible with the culture of a simple life. Peace be with you!
