Does anyone know why people get married by the altar in a Christian Wedding ceremony?
Why the altar is so important? Is this something and its nearest where you are God or something? If someone could give me a clear awnsers would be grateful Thanks:)
The alternative is usually at the center of the church. It is a place for people to focus and people are often well better when they have a real point of contact rather than nothing. Since the altar is the focal point of the church, it is logical that a couple who want to make their vows before God would close the focal point within the church.
