Who Is My Enemy?: Questions American Christians Must Face about Islam–And Themselves $17.99 “Current discussion of Islam in America tends toward two polar extremes. On one hand is the notion that Christianity is superior to Islam and that Muslims are warmongers. On the other is the notion that all religions basically say the same thing and are peaceable. Theologian and critically acclaimed author Lee Camp argues that both these extremes are wrong. He introduces Christian and Islamic views on war and peacemaking and examines Christian and non-Christian terrorism to help readers confront their own prejudices. Camp shatters misconceptions about religious violence, arguing that American Christians often opt for an ethic that has more in common with the story of Muhammad than with the story of Jesus. This book shows readers how to respond faithfully and intelligently to Muslims in today’s world as well as to the New Atheists who suppose that all religion is inherently violent. It provides balanced teaching on war and peacemaking, offering hope for reconciliation in a post-9/11 world.” |

Bleeding For Allah $14.94 Over 4 years in the making, “Bleeding for Allah” scrutinizes Islam from the very birth of the religion. The Koran, the Holy Book of more than one billion people worldwide, is systematically analyzed to reflect the true nature of its message. “Bleeding for Allah” goes the full distance in detailing the uncomfortable and painful truth of that message. Although touted as a peaceful religion and Islamic terrorists dismissed as misguided fanatics, it is clear that the very words of Allah, as voiced through the Archangel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad, are anything but peaceful. Markus Aurelius, in concise and clear fashion, gives countless examples of Koranic verse that readily demonstrates its militancy and violence. The author speaks to cultural bias and is quite sensitive to its influence on interpretation. But the author finds it extremely difficult to dismiss countless holy verse such as: “Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends.” (Koran, 5:51) or: “Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and deal sternly with them.” (Koran, 66:9). To further try to eliminate cultural bias, the book includes a comparative analysis of specific words between the New Testament and the Koran. For example, the words “punishment” and “torture” appear 600% more in the Koran while the word “love” appears 500% less. The author carefully examines the Prophet Muhammad’s life and outlines the gruesome details of his explosive success in the 7th century. The shrewd Prophet creatively found divine support from Allah for his banditry and mass murder. Sadly, more than one billion people believe those wordstoday. Americans are woefully in the dark regarding the Koran. But few Americans have taken the time to read the Koran itself. Markus Aurelius challenges the American public to do just that. “Bleeding for Allah” is the perfect primer. |

Christian Jihad: Two Former Muslims Look at the Crusades and Killing in the Name of Christ $12.99 Caner/Christian Jihad BCC Jihad- For the Western world the word evokes images of mass slaughter, forced religious conversions, and crimes against humanity. But what most Christians forget is that jihad (holy war) also plays a major role in Christianity’s own dark history. In this explosive and controversial book, the Caner brothers-two former Muslims, now staunch evangelical professors-shine the light of truth on Christians killing in the name of their God. These award-winning authors examine the impact of Christian atrocities on modern personal, cultural, and even international relations, question popular views of just war, and challenge each of us to face our past and redeem our future. The Caner brothers are on the cutting edge of the cultural dialogue. -Ann Coulter author, Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right This important book marks one of the first forays by Evangelicals into these thorny issues. . . . Islam And The Blackamerican $38.04 Sherman Jackson offers a trenchant examination of the career of Islam among the blacks of America. Jackson notes that no one has offered a convincing explanation of why Islam spread among Blackamericans (a coinage he explains and defends) but not among white Americans or Hispanics. The assumption has been that there is an African connection. In fact, Jackson shows, none of the distinctive features of African Islam appear in the proto-Islamic, black nationalist movements of the early 20th century. Instead, he argues, Islam owes its momentum to the distinctively American phenomenon of Black Religion, a God-centered holy protest against anti-black racism. Islam in Black America begins as part of a communal search for tools with which to combat racism and redefine American blackness. The 1965 repeal of the National Origins Quota System led to a massive influx of foreign Muslims, who soon greatly outnumbered the blacks whom they found here practicing an indigenous form of Islam. Immigrant Muslims would come to exercise a virtual monopoly over the definition of a properly constituted Islamic life in America. For these Muslims, the nemesis was not white supremacy, but the West. In their eyes, the West was not a racial, but a religious and civilizational threat. American blacks soon learned that opposition to the West and opposition to white supremacy were not synonymous. Indeed, says Jackson, one cannot be anti-Western without also being on some level anti-Blackamerican. Like the Black Christians of an earlier era struggling to find their voice in the context of Western Christianity, Black Muslims now began to strive to find their black, American voice in the context of the super-traditionof historical Islam. Jackson argues that Muslim tradition itself contains the resources to reconcile blackness, American-ness, and adherence to Islam. It is essential, he contends, to preserve within Islam the legitimate aspects of Black Religion, in order to avoid what Stephen Carter |

Neighboring Faiths $32 The world hasn’t really shrunk — it just feels like it. Not all people of different cultures and religious beliefs live halfway around the globe. Some of them live halfway down the block. Encounters with these neighboring faiths, whether in the guise of fellow students at school or college or coworkers at the office, challenge our familiar worlds and make us think more about our own faith.Winfried Corduan offers a helpful introduction to major religions of the world, including Judaism, Islam, Zoroastrianism, African and Native American traditional religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Bahai, Chinese popular religion and the Japanese synthesis.Unlike many other textbooks, his survey emphasizes not just formal religious teachings but how each religion is practiced in daily life. Moving beyond mere description, Corduan, as a professing Christian believer, also gives specific suggestions for how Christians can avoid giving unnecessary offense to adherents of these neighboring faiths while learning to engage them in constructive dialogue.Neighboring Faiths is well suited to use in a variety of contexts. It is designed primarily as an introductory textbook on world religions for use with undergraduates and includes more than 80 photographs, charts and maps, as well as clearly defined learning objectives, term paper suggestions and useful bibliographies.Sections in each chapter on So You Meet a… and What You Might Say to a… enhance the usefulness of the book for church-based adult study groups and for any Christians who wish not only to understand their neighbors better but to witness to them more effectively. The result is a book that should prove useful notjust to students but to all Christians who would like to understand other world religions better. |

Other Islam: Sufism and the Road to Global Harmony $1.99 This eye-opening, insightful exploration of Sufism, the spiritual tradition that has supported Islam for more than a thousand years, shows why it offers a promising foundation for reconciliation between the Western and Muslim worlds. Many Americans today identify Islam with maniacal hatred of the West. The Other Islam transforms this image and opens the way to finding common ground in our troubled times. Sufism, a blend of the mystical and rational tendencies within Islam, emerged soon after the revelation of Muhammad. A reforming movement against the increasing worldliness of Muslim society, it focuses on Islam’s spiritual dimension. Described as “Islam of the Heart,” Sufism has attracted adherents among both Sunni and Shi’a Muslims, as well as Jews, Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists. In The Other Islam, Stephen Schwartz traces the origins and history of Sufism, elucidates its teachings, and illustrates its links to the other religions. He comments on such celebrated Sufi poets and philosophers as Rumi and Al-Ghazali, and narrates their influence on the Kabbalah, on the descendants of the Jewish philosopher Maimonides, and on Christian mystics like Saint John of the Cross and Saint Teresa of Ávila as well as the American transcendentalists. Furthermore, Schwartz presents a fresh survey of Sufism in today’s Islamic world, anticipating an intellectual renaissance of the faith and alternatives to fundamentalism and tyranny in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iran. |

Radical Eye for the Infidel Guy: Inside the Strange World of Militant Islam $2.14 Are you tired of hearing that Islam is really a religion of peace while beheadings of prisoners are broadcast on the Internet, fiendishly clever terrorist plots are continuously uncovered, and carnage in Iraq has become a routine occurrence? This book is for everyone who is fed up with the grotesque exercise of whitewashing the obviously grim realities of radical Islam with political correctness. Author Kevin J. Ryan uses sardonic humor and a streak of radical irreverence to expose Islamist ideology for what it really is: fascism masquerading as religion. Like Chaplin taking on the Nazis in The Great Dictator, Ryan has a field day lampooning the patent absurdities espoused by Muslim extremists. Not afraid of caricature, he bluntly outlines his topics with chapter headings such as:· “How to Found a Religion of Peace and Declare War on the Rest of the World· “Women’s Rights, or What Size Stick to Use to Beat Your Wife· “Europe on Five Massacres a Day· “Tolerance and Diversity, or the Right to Practice Any Religion as Long as It’s Islam· “Education, or What’s That about Allah Turning Jews and Christians into Pigs and Monkeys?· “Back to the Future, or Forward to the Seventh CenturyOther topics include radical Islam’s “amputation-friendly criminal justice system,” the reason why slavery is still considered a “holy institution” by fundamentalist Muslims, “the important distinction between a raving mad radical and a barking mad one,” and a detailed description of what the average American Joe and Jane would look like after a radical Islamic makeover.Combining the debunking zeal of Thomas Paine’s Age of Reason with Mad magazine’swacky view of history and politics, Ryan has written the most politically incorrect-and funniest-book on radical Islam that you’re ever likely to read. |

The Enemy of My Enemy $25.5 In the violent world of radical extremists, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. In this provocative study, George Michael reveals how that precept plays out in the unexpected bonding between militant Islam and the extreme right in American and Europe. At first glance these two groups would seem to share little if any common ground. Why would various neo-Nazis, Holocaust deniers, white separatists, and antigovernment radicals find themselves attracted to movements such as Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Egyptian Islamic Jihad? After all, the extreme right’s racist and radical Christian segments tend to deride and exclude all nonwhites and non-Christians, while Islamic fundamentalists angrily denounce all non-Muslims, especially Americans, as infidels. Nevertheless, as Michael shows, they have developed strikingly similar critiques on such issues as American foreign policy, the media, modernity, and the New World Order. The first book to focus on the growing linkage between these two movements, The Enemy of My Enemy analyzes the histories and ideologies guiding these disparate groups, clarifies the nature of their mutual appeal, and shows how the Internet and globalization have made increased interaction possible. Michael notes that one particularly dominant thread running throughout both camps is a fervent anti-Semitism, accompanied by strong pro-Palestinian views, anger over Israel’s influence on American policymakers, and opposition to the Iraq War and the U.S. presence in the Middle East. Michael also speculates on how the so-called War on Terror might unfold if this unexpected and alarming convergence grows stronger. While the thought of Americans assisting or fighting alongsideIslamic militants–in America–sounds utterly far-fetched, Michael points out that some members of the extreme right have publicly expressed admiration for Al Qaeda’s audacious attacks on 9/11. Daring to consider the unthinkable, Michael Provides an insightful and sane look at the possib |

American Christians And Islam

America vs. mainstream Islam and Muslims?
We have a lot of tension and controversy on words like that just to common to hear only bad things in the news in the Middle East and I know there are American Muslims and American Christians … I am not my question very religious groups or anything, but there are people there or who want to meet or talk on the differences and work together to try to clarify each other? I acknowledge that I have no experience with the culture of Islam and all I see is the material press but it is typical of people there who want to talk or be friends and talk about it, so can enlighten me? I just want to know some people who are different from myself. Thank you a lot – JammieG.
WOW Thanks for the question. I am a Muslim (alhamdilillah-praise / thank you to Allah). And I was born and raised America. And yes, your right. the media have nothing but hatred of Islam. He is very bias. Islam is a beautiful religion. Subhanallah. No other religion makes sense that Islam and is the only religion that rejects any of the prophets. Honestly, I like being Muslim in America. because I can show people what Muslims are about. I wear the hijab (headscarf), so that people come to me all the time and do my questions, which I love. Finally, because they can dispel misunderstandings. When we speak of practicing Muslims, it seems that people were surprised to normal as we are, "How Additional interesting for people. Islam teaches tolerance, not intolerance. It's for charity people smile. What is Religion teaches that the other? Basically, Islam imposes upon this foundation: as Muslims, we must believe: 1. there is a subject worthy of worshiped but Allah (God) 2. you believe in the blind 3. Heaven and Hell 4. The books that preceded it (the Old Testament, the Gospels, the Koran) 5. Belief in all prophets of God from Adam, including Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah, and Muhammad Peace be to all) and finally 6. Order divine. Hesitate to write! I talk about Islam! almaghrib.louisiana () gmail.com caring, and I ask Allah to guide us and all the narrow way and the truth. Amen!
